Energy systems for Princess Yachts
The intensive cooperation with Plymouth-based MES is how WhisperPower became the main supplier of energy systems to Princess Yachts of diesel generators from 5 – 22 kVA. Two types of generator technologies are being applied. The classic fixed RPM sets operate on 1500/1800 rpm.
The all-water cooled ultra-compact adjustable speed models are also installed in TWIN parallel use, enabling a low energy (economy mode) when one generator is running and a high power load, with two units operating in parallel.
A large Lithium Power Plus battery bank
The OctoPower 24 + system installed in a Princess X-80 built for an internatonal client consists of the following components:
- 110 kWh Lithium Power Plus (LFP) battery bank, 48 VDC, complete with DC distribution and DC fuses to ensure safe operation.
- 30 kVA 3 phase 60 Hz inverter/charger system to operate AC loads during silent time and charge batteries when running generator.
- WhisperCare monitoring and control bus integrated with Boning power system control system.
24/7 Monitoring with WhisperCare
The OctoPower 24 + can be monitored 24/7 in real-time remotely via the optional WhisperCare Wi-Fi router package. This is based on a 4G/ 5G internet connection in combination with a WhisperTouch 7ʺ or 10” monitoring screen.
With WhisperCare, all important parameters can be read from a distance via a cell phone, tablet or computer. In addition, full Wi-Fi is now available for computers, TVs and other enabled devices. WhisperPower systems can also be connected to various digital switching systems and each integrates perfectly with Naviop, Yachtcontrol, Garmin, Trigentic, EmpirBus and others.
