The SAFT LSH20 PR is a 3.6V 13Ah D-size Lithium-Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl₂) primary battery with cable/flying leads. Its spiral construction provides high pulse capability, stable voltage and long service life across a wide -60°C to +85°C operating range. It is suitable for utility meters, tracking systems, GPS, security systems, wireless sensors, telemetry, M2M communication and demanding industrial electronics.

The SAFT LSH20 PR is a high-performance 3.6V 13Ah primary Lithium-Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl₂) battery in the D-size format, supplied with cable/flying-lead connections for convenient integration into electronic equipment and custom battery applications. It is designed for applications requiring long operating life, stable voltage and high pulse-current capability.
The LSH20 uses a spiral-cell construction that provides higher power capability than conventional bobbin-type Li-SOCl₂ cells. It delivers a nominal capacity of 13Ah, an open-circuit voltage of approximately 3.67V, and a nominal voltage of 3.6V.

High-Power Li-SOCl₂ Performance
The LSH20 is designed for equipment requiring both long-term energy storage and periodic high-current pulses. SAFT documentation specifies pulse capability of typically up to 4,000mA under defined test conditions; actual pulse performance depends on pulse duration, temperature, load profile and the previous discharge history of the cell.
The battery also provides a wide operating-temperature range of -60°C to +85°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial and outdoor environments. Its self-discharge rate is less than 3% after one year of storage at +20°C under the specified conditions.
Robust Construction
The SAFT LSH20 features a stainless-steel container, hermetic glass-to-metal sealing, an integrated safety vent and non-flammable electrolyte. The LSH20 family is also available in several termination configurations, including axial leads, flying leads, radial tabs and pins.
The LSH20 PR cable configuration shown here is particularly convenient where the battery needs to be connected directly to equipment or a battery connector without mounting the cell directly onto a PCB.
